W A T E R E N E R G Y I l f E RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES - Board Memorandum PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: August 3, 2012 ITEM NO: 3 SUBJECT: INSTALLATION OF NEW STREET LIGHTS FOR THE IOWA AVENUE GRADE SEPARATION PROJECT-WORK ORDER NO. 1204208 ISSUE: Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1204208. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of$355,234 for Work Order No. 1204208 to install street lights for the Iowa Avenue Grade Separation Project from Palmyrita Avenue to Springs Street, as well as along Citrus Avenue. BACKGROUND: As part of the Iowa Avenue Grade Separation Project which is being led by the Public Works Department, some street lights will need to be relocated, as well as new street lights installed. Work Order No. 1204208 includes the furnishing and installation of 36 street lights, 14 wall packs, conduit and cable from Palmyrita Avenue to Springs Street, as well as along Citrus Avenue. Engineering was performed by Public Utilities'staff. All additional work will be performed by the Public Works Department contractor as part of the overall Project. FISCAL IMPACT: The total estimated cost for Work Order No. 1204208 is$355,234.
