W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E <br /> EaRIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: June 1, 2012 <br /> GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 14 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—April 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during April 2012 were 187,802 MWh and 37,858 MWh of purchases <br /> from the CA1SO, of which 129,944 MWh were provided by our resources and other purchases. The retail customer <br /> load for April 2012 (154,449 MWh)was 0.5% less than the retail customer load in April 2011 (155,295 MWh). The <br /> actual peak system demand was 374 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 339 MW last year. Energy <br /> returns were 10,515 MWh and 2,838 MWh were attributed to losses (4.26%). Green power supplied approximately <br /> 24.97%of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> I PP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 48.91%capacity factor for the month, <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 77,69%capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0%capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 100% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated 6/16111). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 97.01% for the month. <br /> RERC: RE RC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4)availability was 98.65%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 50%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 84.92%capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 1213112012) and the <br /> North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each <br /> resource for the months of April 2011 and April 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
