W A T E R E H E R f,• RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: May 18, 2012 ITEM NO: 8 SUBJECT: UTILITY AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION, UTILITY AGREEMENT NUMBER 22465 ISSUE: That the Board of Public Utilities consider approval of Utility Agreement Number 22465 with the San Bernardino County Transportation Commission (SANBAG) for the relocating of City of Riverside Public Utilities (RPU)facilities along State Route 91 and Interstate 215 (SR9111215). RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Public Utilities recommend that the City Council approve Utility Agreement Number 22465 between the RPU and the SANBAG for the relocation of RPU electric facilities. BACKGROUND: San Bernardino County Transportation Commission will be widening SR91/1215 from Spruce Street to Orange Show Road. This proposed work will add: • High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on both north and south bound lanes ■ Sound walls, retaining walls, and barrier walls in various locations. As part of the project, utility conflicts have been identified which will need to be relocated prior to the start of freeway construction work, which is expected to begin in the fall 2012. It is anticipated that the electric relocations would begin in August 2012. Utility Agreement Number 22465 contains terms for the relocation of existing electric facilities along SR9111215 from Citrus Street to Riverside Canal (Attachment 2). FISCAL IMPACT: The total estimated cost is $393,449 for which SANBAG will fully reimburse RPU under Utility Agreement Number 22465. Prepared by: Stephen H.
