W A i £ R £H E R 6 Y L I F L <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Pl18LIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: May 4, 2012 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 17 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT-- March 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including lasses) during March 2012 were 172,628 MWh and 78,442 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 94,186 MWh were provided by our resources and other purchases. <br /> The retail customer load for March 2012 (151,741 MWh) was 3.9% higher than the retail customer load <br /> in March 2011 (146,102 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 287 MW, compared to actual peak <br /> system demand of 331 MW last year. Energy returns were 17,620 MWh and 2,666 MWh were attributed <br /> to losses (4.27%). Green power supplied approximately 18.41% of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: I P P units 1 and 2 operated at 48.84% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 72.08% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 98.01% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 6116/11), <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 98.84%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 46.38% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 80.42% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 12131/2012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of March 2011 and March 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
