RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $127,800 to relocate affected electric distribution facilities along Van Buren Boulevard. BACKGROUND: This project is in conjunction with the Public Works Department's Van Buren Boulevard Street Maintenancellmprovement Project. The Project will improve various stretches of Van Buren Boulevard between Garfield Street and Colorado Avenue. The street improvements are broken into small portions affecting nine existing wood poles that will need to be relocated, and approximately 55 feet of underground conduit and cable. The relocated structures were designed with consideration given to the surrounding aesthetics. The electrical engineering design was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU). Electrical work will be performed by a combination of contract crews and RPU field forces. FISCAL IMPACT: The total estimated cost for Work Order No. 1219297 is $127,800.
