W A 7 E R E N E R G Y L f F F <br /> L3W& RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U B L I C u T I L I T I E 5 Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: April 6, 2012 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 24 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—February 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during February 2012 were 170,458 MWh and 50,176 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 120,282 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for February 2012 (151,290 MWh) was 4.8% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in February 2011 (144,359 MWh), The actual peak system demand was 286 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 278 MW last year. Energy returns were 16,690 MWh and <br /> 2,478 MWh were attributed to losses (4.17%). Green power supplied approximately 18.08° of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: I P P units 1 and 2 operated at 47.60° capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 98.66% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% and 3.45° capacity factor respectively for the <br /> month. <br /> Hoover: 111.90% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule <br /> (dated 6116111). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 88.54% for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 50%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 84.50° capacity factor for the month, <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1213112012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of February 2011 and February 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
