W A T E R r ra f R G Y <br /> - RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: April 6, 2012 <br /> ITEM NO: 10 <br /> SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC LINE EXTENSION —SUPER WAL-MART <br /> WORK ORDER NO. 1120337 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1120337. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $91,000 for Work Order <br /> No. 1120337 to install an underground electric distribution line extension to serve a Super Wal-Mart <br /> proposed for the northeast corner of Campus Parkway and Corporate Centre Place. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Project consists of extending electrical distribution facilities to serve a new Super Wal-Mart located <br /> at 6250 Valley Springs Parkway (Attachment 1). The Project includes electric system improvements that <br /> would facilitate reliable distribution service for the development. This Project will be constructed with <br /> consideration given to the surrounding aesthetics. <br /> The electrical engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff and electric work will <br /> be performed by either RPU field forces or by contractors utilizing the Electric Contractors' Panel. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total project cost is estimated at $91,000. Sufficient funds are available in the Distribution Line <br /> Extensions Account No. 6130000-470601. These costs will be reimbursed pursuant to Electric Rules 10 <br /> and 11 that requires the applicant pay the full cost of facilities to serve new or increased commercial or <br /> industrial loads prior to work being performed. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
