W A T E R E N E R G Y <br /> rkm <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> -�M W& Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: April 6, 2012 <br /> ITEM NO: 9 <br /> SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC LINE EXTENSION — WATER QUALITY CONTROL <br /> PLANT EXPANSION -WORK ORDER NO. 1211641 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1211641. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $237,000 for Work Order <br /> No. 1211641 to install an underground electric distribution line extension for the expansion of the City of <br /> Riverside Public Works Department's Water Quality Control Plant. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Project consists of extending existing electrical distribution facilities to serve the expansion of the <br /> Water Quality Control Plant located at 5950 Acorn Street (Attachment 1). The Project includes electric <br /> system improvements that would facilitate reliable distribution service for the Plant. The electrical <br /> engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff and electric work will be performed <br /> by either RPU field forces or contractors utilizing the Electric Contractors' Panel. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total project cost is estimated at $237,000. Sufficient funds are available in the Distribution Line <br /> Extensions Account No. 6130000-470601. These casts will be reimbursed pursuant to Electric Rules 10 <br /> and 11 which require that the applicant pay the full cost of facilities to serve new or increased commercial <br /> or industrial loads prior to work being performed. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
