W R I E R E N E R G Y L i f f <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC U ] I L 17 I E 5 Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: March 2, 2012 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 14 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—January 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during January 2012 were 187,484 MWh and 28,175 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 159,309 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for January 2012 (188,178 MWh) was 2.7% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in January 2011 (181,751 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 288 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 289 MW last year. Energy returns were 19,000 MWh and <br /> 2,305 MWh were attributed to losses (3.15%). Green power supplied approximately 18.74% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: I P P units 1 and 2 operated at 39.96% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 100%capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 22.55% and 99,76%capacity factor respectively <br /> for the month. <br /> Hoover: 109.12% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule <br /> (dated 6/16/11). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 88.52%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 48.79%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 90.87% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1213112012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of January 2011 and January 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
