W A T E R E N E R G Y + 1 1 k <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: February 3, 2012 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 15 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—December 2011 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements(including losses) during December 2011 were 187,722 MWh and 808 MWh of sales to the <br /> CAISO, of which 188,530 MWh were provided by our resources and purchases. The retail customer load for <br /> December 2011 (161,932 MWh)was 2.0% higher than the retail customer load in December 2010 (158,810 MWh). <br /> The actual peak system demand was 304 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 241 MW last year. <br /> Energy returns were 21,642 MWh and 4,148 MWh were attributed to losses (3.30%). Green power supplied <br /> approximately 20.11%of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 82.33% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 91.56% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 95.18% and 99.92%capacity factor respectively for the <br /> month. <br /> Hoover: 75.63%of RVSD's monthly entitlement was met. <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 72.65%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4)availability was 98.24%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 61.09%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 94.82%capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 10/23/2012)and the <br /> North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each <br /> resource for the months of December 2010 and December 2011. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
