W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES PU6LIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 4, 2013 DIRECTOR'S REPORT ITEM NO: 16 SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—November 2012 POWER USAGE Total load requirements (including losses) during November 2012 were 198,177 MWh and 58,535 MWh of purchases from the CAISO, of which 139,542 MWh were provided by our resources and other purchases. The retail customer load for November 2012 (173,247 MWh) was 13.9% higher than the retail customer load in November 2011 (152,128 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 335 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 290 MW last year. Energy returns were 21,236 MWh and 3,694 MWh were attributed to losses (4.3%). Green power supplied approximately 16.52% of our retail energy requirements. The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: UNIT OPERATION IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 75.11% capacity factor for the month. PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 78.28% capacity factor for the month. SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. Hoover: 133.73% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated 5114112). Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 99.31% for the month. RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 82.34%for the month. Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 77.62%for the month. Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 85,70% capacity factor for the month. TRANSMISSION: Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1213112012) and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW.
