W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PU6LIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 4, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 16 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—November 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during November 2012 were 198,177 MWh and 58,535 MWh <br /> of purchases from the CAISO, of which 139,542 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for November 2012 (173,247 MWh) was 13.9% higher than the <br /> retail customer load in November 2011 (152,128 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 335 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 290 MW last year. Energy returns were 21,236 MWh and <br /> 3,694 MWh were attributed to losses (4.3%). Green power supplied approximately 16.52% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 75.11% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 78.28% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 133.73% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule <br /> (dated 5114112). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 99.31% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 82.34%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 77.62%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 85,70% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1213112012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of November 2011 and November 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
