- RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> i� <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 4, 2013 <br /> ITEM NO: 4 <br /> SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION FOR THE NEW 168 UNIT <br /> PASEO'S AT MAGNOLIA APARTMENT COMPLEX-WORK ORDER NO. 1223123 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of Work Order No. 1223123. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $241,267 for Work Order <br /> No. 1223123 to install a pad mounted switch,junction cabinets and transformers to serve a new 168 unit <br /> apartment complex located near Magnolia Avenue and Fillmore Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Project consists of extending electrical distribution facilities to serve the new 168 unit Paseo's at <br /> Magnolia apartment complex (Attachment 1). The project includes the installation of several hundred <br /> feet of conduit, 19 pad mounted structures and the replacement of three aging utility poles to increase <br /> system reliability. The Project has been designed and will be constructed with consideration given to the <br /> surrounding aesthetics. <br /> Engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff and electric work will be performed <br /> by RPU field forces. Civil construction will be performed by the developer at the developer's expense. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1223123 is estimated to be $241,267. Sufficient funds are <br /> available in the Electrical Capital Account No. 6130000-470601. Consistent with Electric Rules 10 and <br /> 11, the expenditure will be fully reimbursed by the developer less depreciation value of $488.00, less <br /> system betterment of$23,427. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
