RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: February 1, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 13 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT--December 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total bad requirements (including losses) during December 2012 were 193,320 MWh and 27,925 MWh <br /> of purchases from the CAISO, of which 165,395 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for December 2012 (164,686 MWh) was 1.7% higher than the retail <br /> customer bad in December 2011 (161,932 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 301 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 304 MW last year. Energy returns were 22,528 MWh and <br /> 3,656 MWh were attributed to losses (4.29%). Green power supplied approximately 17.75% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> PP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 71.88% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 86.41% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 104.15% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule <br /> (dated 5114112). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 82.12%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 64.83%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 99.87%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 48.31% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 0313112013) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of December 2011 and December 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
