W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F F <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES oa "' CllI11 <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: March 1, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 15 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—January 2013 [Estimate] <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during January 2013 were 196,816 MWh and 40,500 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 156,316 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for January 2013 (171,698 MWh) was 3.3% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in January 2012 (166,178 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 314 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 288 MW last year. Energy returns were 21,398 MWh and <br /> 3,720 MWh were attributed to losses (4.28%). Green power supplied approximately 25.40% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 71.97% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 95.52% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 90.24% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 5114112). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 97.52% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 99.83%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 99.99° for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 88.83% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 0313112013) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of January 2012 and January 2013. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
