W A T E R E N E R G Y . ;�3� RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: April 5, 2013 DIRECTOR'S REPORT ITEM NO: 16 SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—February 2013 POWER USAGE Total load requirements (including losses) during February 2013 were 176,464 MWh and 41,567 MWh of purchases from the CAISO, of which 134,836 MWh were provided by our resources and other purchases. The retail customer load for February 2013 (154,654 MWh) was 2.2% higher than the retail customer load in February 2012 {151,290 MWh}. The actual peak system demand was 285 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 286 MW last year. Energy returns were 19,080 MWh and 2,730 MWh were attributed to losses (4.24%). Green power supplied approximately 25.66% of our retail energy requirements. The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: UNIT OPERATION IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 55.66% capacity factor for the month. PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 100% capacity factor for the month. SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. Hoover: 94.30% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated 5114112). Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 96.62% for the month. RERC: RE RC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 61.72%for the month. Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 99.33%for the month. Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 87.62% capacity factor for the month. TRANSMISSION: Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 0413012013) and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW.
