Several of the older wells have reached the limit it useful life is n are <br /> declining production o aging equipment such ri motors. Phase I of the <br /> II rehabilitation r j c s consists of rehabilitating five r wells this 2013-14 winter season in n <br /> continue effort to i iin reliable source supply customers. Staff has identified II i <br /> Its for rehabilitation — Electric Street, r ri i , Twin Springs, Garner B and Thorne 12. These <br /> projects ill be completed urin i 2013-14 i t season during i II shutdowns are <br /> permissible. Electric r II and Garner B Well projects will be completed 1, 2014. <br /> Moore ri i II, Twin rin s Well and Thorne Well will be completed by May 31, 2014.. <br /> The work for well rehabilitation pr j cs requires removal i { motor followed <br /> performing a i survey of the i tin conditions of the well screen. After inspection review of <br /> video, ill determine which roc ur s should be taken to increase the capacity of the well. These <br /> procedures may include ru i bailing, i r l pack, and chemical treatment. The pump <br /> and for may also replaced if r improperly sized for the rehabilitated {l. The <br /> initial rehabilitation r ill take approximately six weeks. However, if r motor are <br /> deemed necessary, the duration for each well project would 12 weeks for completion. <br /> Given specialty wor r the rehabilitation or n d given the time r required urin <br /> the winter season, staff will solicit bids from r Division Contractors' Panel and award <br /> project individually to the lowest responsible bi r.
