ti RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: October 18, 2013 <br /> ITEM NO: 5 <br /> SUBJECT: OVERHEAD ELECTRIC POLE RELOCATION ALONG MAGNOLIA AVENUE BETWEEN <br /> MADISON AND JACKSON STREETS—WORK ORDER NO. 1405199 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the estimated capital expenditure of <br /> $130,000 for Work Order No. 1405199 for the relocation of five electric utility poles for the 2013/2014 Arterial <br /> Streets Maintenance Phase 1 Project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of$130,000 for Work Order No. <br /> 1405199 to relocate five electric utility poles for the Public Work's 2013/2014 Arterial Streets Maintenance <br /> Phase 1 Project along Magnolia Avenue between Madison and Jackson Streets. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Public Works Department will be re-constructing multiple median noses along Magnolia Avenue between <br /> Madison and Jackson Streets(Attachment 1). These improvements require the relocation of five poles,the <br /> addition of five new poles and rework of the associated distribution and transmission facilities.. <br /> Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff completed the project engineering with consideration given to the <br /> surrounding aesthetics,while ensuring that such consideration did not impact the cost of construction.
