W A T E R E N E R G Y L <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: October 4, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 16 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—August 2013 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during August 2013 were 223,347 MWh and 45,276 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 178,071 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for August 2013 (211,155 MWh) was 8.6% lower than the retail <br /> customer load in August 2012 (230,929 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 560 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 592 MW last year. Energy returns were 8,280 MWh and <br /> 3,612 MWh were attributed to losses (4.39%). Green power supplied approximately 24.5% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 61.99% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 92.17% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 90.48% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 5/14/12). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 97.62%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 99.72% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 74.12% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 12/31/2013) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of August 2012 and August 2013. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
