R E N F „ <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: September 20, 2013 <br /> ITEM NO: 6 <br /> SUBJECT: OVERHEAD ELECTRIC POLE RELOCATION AND UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL <br /> INSTALLATION ALONG DAWES STREET NORTHERLY OF MAGNOLIA AVENUE — <br /> WORK ORDER NO. 1327739 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure of $113,180 for <br /> Work Order No. 1327739 for the relocation of three electric utility poles and the installation of an <br /> underground vault and conduits for the Dawes Street Improvement Project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $113,180 for Work Order <br /> No. 1327739 to replace three deteriorated poles and install a vault to reroute conduits in conflict with a <br /> new storm drain line for the Dawes Street Improvement Project. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This project will relocate existing overhead and underground facilities in conflict with a new storm drain line <br /> for the Public Works Dawes Street Improvement Project along Dawes Street northerly of Magnolia Avenue <br /> (Attachment 1). The project includes the relocation of three Riverside Public Utility wood poles, the <br /> installation of an underground vault, approximately 2,400 feet of conduit and electrical distribution facilities <br /> to increase system reliability. <br /> Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff completed the project engineering with consideration given to the <br /> surrounding aesthetics, while ensuring that such consideration did not impact the cost of construction. <br /> The project schedule is as follows: <br /> Project Schedule <br /> Engineering Performed By: RPU engineering staff <br /> Civil Construction Performed By: Contract crews from RPU contractor's panel <br /> Electrical Work Performed By: RPU field forces <br /> Anticipated Start Date: Se tember 30, 2013 <br /> Anticipated Duration: 2 weeks <br /> Coordination Required With: Public Works' Dawes Street Improvement Project <br /> Reimbursements: None <br />
