The project includes the relocation of six Riverside Public Utility wood poles and
associated underground risers. Staff considered undergrounding the overhead lines as part of this
Project. However, the Project addresses small non-continuous sections of Van Buren Boulevard making
undergrounding the lines cost prohibitive.
Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff completed the project engineering with consideration given to the
surrounding aesthetics, while ensuring that such consideration did not impact the cost of construction. The
project schedule is as follows:
Project Schedule
Engineering Performed By: RPU engineering staff
Civil Construction Performed By: Public Works' contractor formal bid
Electrical Work Performed By: RPU field forces
Anticipated Start Date: September 27, 2013
Anticipated Duration: 3 weeks
Coordination Required With: Public Works' Van Buren Street Improvement Project
Reimbursements: None
