W A r E R E N E R G Y <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: September 6, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 16 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—July 2013 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during July 2013 were 223,173 MWh and 81,712 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 141,461 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for July 2013 (211,405 MWh) was 8.9% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in July 2012 (194,107 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 534 MW, compared <br /> to actual peak system demand of 579 MW last year. Energy returns were 7,839 MWh and 3,529 MWh <br /> were attributed to losses (4.39%). Green power supplied approximately 10.27% of our retail energy <br /> requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 59.79% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 93.05% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 88.16% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 5/14/12). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 98.92% for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 100% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 18.20% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 12/01/2013) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of July 2012 and July 2013. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
