-` RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: September 6, 2013 <br /> ITEM NO: 3 <br /> SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION ALONG TEQUESQUITE AVENUE <br /> BETWEEN PINE STREET AND BROCKTON AVENUE - WORK ORDER NO. <br /> 1325777 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditures of $489,983 <br /> for Work Order No. 1325777 for the installation of an underground vault, manhole, conduits and <br /> underground switch structure in the Downtown area. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $489,983 for Work Order <br /> No. 1325777 to install an underground vault, manhole, conduits and underground switch structure <br /> consistent with the Electric System Master Plan for the Downtown area. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This project will extend existing electrical distribution facilities to serve the Riverside Community Hospital <br /> Expansion Project and other future customers near Brockton Avenue and Tequesquite Avenue <br /> (Attachment 1). The project includes the installation of approximately 3400 feet of conduit, three <br /> underground structures and electrical distribution facilities to increase system reliability. The project has <br /> been designed and will be constructed with consideration given to the surrounding aesthetics. <br /> Engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff and electric work will be performed <br /> by RPU field forces. All civil construction including trenching, conduits, underground structures and other <br /> infrastructure work will be performed by contract crews from the RPU Contractors' Panel. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1325777 is estimated to be $489,983.
