W A T E R E N E R G Y l f F F <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> OW& Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: July 19, 2013 <br /> ITEM NO: 10 <br /> SUBJECT: RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING AND <br /> PARKING STRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT -WORK ORDER NO. 1401472 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The item for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure in the amount of <br /> $57,680 for City-provided construction services associated with the development of Riverside <br /> Community Hospital's new Medical Office Building and Parking Structure. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve Work Order No. 1401472 in the amount of $57,680 which. <br /> includes City-provided construction services associated with the development of Riverside Community <br /> Hospital's new Medical Office Building and Parking Structure. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Riverside Community Hospital (RCH) is in the process of expanding and retrofitting existing <br /> buildings in order to comply with Senate Bill (SB) 1953. As such, RCH submitted a Design Review for <br /> two new structures; a new Medical Office Building (MOB) located at 4510 Brockton Ave (MOB) and a <br /> new parking structure located at 4550 Brockton Ave. Both projects were submitted separately to the City <br /> and approved at a staff level by the Zoning Administrator through the Administrative Review process. <br /> The new parking structure and MOB were approved on or about February 5, 2013 and May 10, 2013, <br /> respectively. <br /> In order to support the projects water demands, RCH requested a 4-inch domestic service with a 3-inch <br /> meter for the MOB, a 2-inch domestic service with a 2-inch meter for the parking structure, an 8-inch fire <br /> service which, will support both buildings, a 6-inch fire service for a an additional on-site fire hydrant <br /> required by the Fire Department and a 2-inch landscape service with a 1-inch meter. <br /> In order to ensure that RPU protects the water quality provided to its customers, staff will perform all <br /> construction activities related to connections to the existing water system, which includes all service <br /> installations from the water main to the right-of-way. <br /> On April 17, 2013, RCH paid the required fees and charges as set forth in Water Rules 10 and 11 in the <br /> amount of $102,440 of which, $57,680 is allocated towards the construction related services provided by <br /> RPU. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1401472 is estimated to be $57,680. Sufficient funds <br /> are available in the Public Utilities' Water System Expansion Account No. 6230000-470701. <br />
