W A t E R E N E R G Y - L I F E <br /> a III& <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: June 7, 2013 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 21 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—April 2013 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during April 2013 were 178,479 MWh and 32,045 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 146,434 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for April 2013 (163,602 MWh) was 5.9% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in April 2012 (154,449 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 326 MW, compared <br /> to actual peak system demand of 377 MW last year. Energy returns were 2,906 MWh and 1,490 MWh <br /> were attributed to losses (4.21%). Green power supplied approximately 28.64% of our retail energy <br /> requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 23.67% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 61.18% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 101.81% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule <br /> (dated 5/14/12). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 99.79%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 37.78% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 78.84% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 06/30/2013) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of April 2012 and April 2013. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
