Staff will present recommendations on the following item: <br /> PROPOSED ELECTRIC RATE INCREASE PLAN <br /> A three-year electric rate increase is proposed effective January 1, 2008, which will <br /> fund additional internal power generation in the city, a second substation connection <br /> to the state transmission grid, and rising power costs on the open market. In order to <br /> meet anticipated electric customer demand and provide more reliable delivery of <br /> power, the projects need to be completed within the next several years or rolling <br /> blackouts may occur during peak summer months or when the single point of <br /> connection to the State transmission grid is compromised. <br /> LISTENING ASSISTIVE DEVICES are available for the hearing impaired--please see City Clerk. <br /> The City of Riverside wishes to make all of its public meetings accessible to the public. Upon <br /> request, this agenda will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to persons with <br /> disabilities, as required by Section 202 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
