Staff will present recommendations on the following item: <br /> PROPOSED THREE-YEAR WATER RATE INCREASE PLAN AND <br /> CHANGES TO WATER RATE SCHEDULE <br /> A series of approximately 20% per year water rate increases are proposed to be <br /> effective November 1, 2006, 2007, and 2008, which will fund the aging <br /> infrastructure of the water system, and the financial capability to handle disaster <br /> and emergency situations relative to water issues in order to provide safe and <br /> reliable water to Riverside customers. <br /> Other proposed revisions to the WA-6 rate schedule of General Metered Service <br /> — Change the rate structures of commercial and industrial metered services from <br /> one to two tiers and one to three tiers, respectively, as well as add the <br /> incremental cost of purchased water to both the highest tier during both summer <br /> and winter seasons. <br /> 5.
