LIEta <br />CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE <br />P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 <br />ITEM NO: 3 <br />File ID - 15 -2966 - C <br />SUBJECT: INSTALLATION OF PAD - MOUNTED SWITCH ON TYLER STREET NEAR DIANA <br />AVENUE— WORK ORDER NO. 1523107 FOR $332,000 <br />ISSUE: <br />The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure of $332,000 for <br />Work Order No. 1523107 for the installation of a pad- mounted switch on Tyler Street near Diana Avenue. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $332,000 for Work Order <br />No. 1523107 for the installation of a replacement pad- mounted switch on Tyler Street near Diana <br />Avenue. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric System Master Plan (ESMP) recommended replacing outdated underground switches with <br />new pad- mounted equipment to increase system reliability, safety and operational efficiency. The scope <br />of work includes the installation of approximately 126 trench feet of conduit, 850 circuit feet of <br />underground primary cable, one pad- mounted switch, one pad- mounted junction cabinet, one buried <br />transformer enclosure and related electrical facilities.
