CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Minutes of: Special Meeting of the Board of Public Utilities <br />Date of Meeting: June 4, 2015 <br />Time of Meeting: 8:30 a.m. <br />Place of Meeting: Utility Operations Center <br />2911 Adams Street <br />Riverside, California 92507 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG WAS GIVEN <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Susan Cash (Chair) <br />Ron Cole <br />Justin Scott-Coe <br />Dave Austin (Vice-Chair) <br />Nick Ferguson <br />Andrew Walcker <br />Absent: Jennifer O'Farrell (excused absence due to business) <br />David Roberts (excused absence due to vacation) <br />Darrell Ament (unexcused absence) <br />PRESENTATION <br />1 EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION AWARDS <br />Deputy General Manager Kevin Milligan introduced Principal Legislative Analyst, Rita <br />Medina, to the Board of Public Utilities and the Board welcomed Rita. Ms. Medina will <br />be the legislative liaison for RPU and provide assistance with identifying issues and <br />advocating on our behalf to state and federal legislative entities. <br />2 LEADERSHIP RIVERSIDE — "TRANSFORMER ART WRAP" <br />Riverside Art Museum Director Drew Oberjuerge gave a presentation explaining a <br />proposed public art project that will be done over the summer to beautify several pad - <br />mounted utility boxes in the downtown area. The Leadership Riverside, Class of 2015, <br />has raised money to provide artwork to wrap several boxes in the downtown area with <br />historic imagery from the Riverside Public Library's collection of historical resources. <br />The boxes are sponsored with outside funding and utility staff has been asked for <br />technical assistance to assure safety, and electrical standards are being followed. <br />They have created a template for the project to be continued city -wide by other groups <br />and will also engage the community to use the boxes for educational purposes about <br />Riverside history. <br />
