On June 5, 2012, the City Council approved a revised RA Program which
updated the program to reflect current grid operational conditions, deleted obsolete provisions and
ensured implementation efficiency while enhancing reliability.
On November 13, 2012, the City Council approved RPU's Annual RA Plan for 2013, and delegated the
authority to approve future Annual RA plans to the Board of Public Utilities to the extent the plan is
compliant with the City Council approved RA Program.
The 2015 Annual RA Plan attached herein fully complies with the City Council's approved RA Program
and assures capacity resources are adequate to serve the electrical requirements of the City's customers
in 2015.
Upon the approval by Board, staff will file the 2015 Annual RA Plan with the CAISO in accordance with
the CAISO tariff requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The anticipated expenditures for the procurement of electric capacity and energy pursuant to the 2015
Annual RA Plan are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2014 -15 Power Resources budget for the months of
January through June 2015 and will be budgeted accordingly for the remainder months of 2015 in the
Fiscal Year 2015 -16 Power Resources budget.
