Brown <br />Facilities Planning <br /> <br />February 3, 1998 <br /> <br />{) 199B <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />City of Riverside <br />Attention: Colleen Nicol <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Transmittal of Resolution of Riverside Unified School District's Adoption ofIncreased School <br />Facilities Fees, and Map Indicating the Boundaries ofthe Area Subject to the Increase <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Nichol: <br /> <br />The Board of Education ("Board") of the Riverside Unified School District ("District"), on February 2, <br />1998, adopted a resolution increasing the school facilities fee levied on new residential, commercial and <br />industrial development in accordance with Government Code Section 65995(b)(3). <br /> <br />Beginning on April 3, 1998, the school facilities fee on residential development shall be $1.93 per square <br />foot of assessable space as defined in Government Code Section 65995(b)( I), and the school facilities fee on <br />commercial and industrial development shall be $0.31 per square foot of chargeable covered and enclosed space <br />as defined in Government Code Section 65995(b )(2). <br /> <br />Enclosed please find a copy of Resolution No. 1997/98-32 entitled "Resolution ofthe Board of Education <br />of the Riverside Unified School District Increasing School Facilities Fees Imposed on New Residential, <br />Commercial and Industrial Development," and a map clearly indicating the boundaries of the area subject to <br />the increased fees. Please be advised that a boundary change between Moreno Valley USD and Riverside USD <br />will become effective on July 1, 1998. The boundary map depicts the area to Riverside USD in pink and the <br />area to Moreno Valley USD in green. <br /> <br />As you are aware, pursuant to the provisions of Education Code Section 17620, the City of Riverside is <br />prohibited from issuing any building permit to a developer of a project within the District's boundaries unless <br />and until the District has executed a Certificate of Compliance indicating that the developer has paid the <br />required school facilities fees.
