sY A I R E N E R L Y I I F F == RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: JULY 10, 2015 ITEM NO: 7 File ID — 15 -2154 - C SUBJECT: SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT TRACT 30473 — WORK ORDER NO. 1325128 FOR $52,492 (LA SIERRA AVENUE AND ORCHARD VIEW LANE) ISSUE: The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is to approve a capital expenditure in the amount of $52,492 for Work Order No. 1325128 which includes City - provided construction and inspection services associated with Tract 30473, a single - family residential development in the County of Riverside east of La Sierra Avenue and South of Orchard View Lane. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Public Utilities approve the capital expenditure of $52,492 for Work Order No. 1325128 which includes City - provided construction and inspection services associated with Tract 30473, a single - family residential development. BACKGROUND: On January 11, 2005 the County of Riverside Board of Supervisors approved Tentative Tract Map 30473 and the development of approximately 32 single - family residential lots located along La Sierra Avenue south of McAllister Parkway within the unincorporated limits of the County of Riverside. Although the development is located outside city limits, the development is located within Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) Water Division service boundary. RPU has sufficient existing water infrastructure to serve this development. In order to support and sustain water demands for the proposed development project, the developer obtained approval from the RPU to construct a potable water system. The developer hired a Registered Civil Engineer to prepare a water plan in conformance with the RPU's Standard Plans and Specifications. Staff anticipates the water plan to be approved in July 2015. Staff will perform all construction activities related to system connections to the existing potable water system. RPU construction services consist of installing two 8 -inch system connections and two fire hydrants along La Sierra Avenue. RPU will also provide inspection services for the 8 -inch and 4 -inch waterlines constructed by the developer's licensed contractor. On June 10, 2015 the developer paid the required fees and charges as set forth in Water Rules 10 and 11 in the amount of $355,217.36, of which $52,492 is allocated towards the construction and inspection related services provided by RPU. FISCAL IMPACT: The total capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1325128 is estimated to be $52,492. Sufficient funds are available in the Public Utilities' Water System Expansion Account No. 6230000 - 470701 and are fully paid for by the developer of the project.
