W A T E R E N E f. <br />_s <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: OCTOBER 17, 2014 <br />ITEM NO: 5 <br />SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION NEAR ADAMS STREET AND <br />CAMELIA DRIVE FOR NEW TRACT 36654 - WORK ORDER NO. 1501689 <br />ISSUE: <br />The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure of $125,000 for <br />Work Order No. 1501689 for the installation of electrical distribution facilities for Tract 36654. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $125.000 for Work Order <br />No. 1501689 for the installation of electrical distribution facilities for Tract 36654. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The project will extend existing electrical distribution facilities to serve 62 new single family residences <br />near Adams Street and Camelia Drive for Tract 36654. The project includes the installation of <br />approximately 6,200 trench feet of conduit, six pad- mounted transformers, two underground structures, <br />one pole replacement and related electric facilities. <br />Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) engineering staff performed the design to eliminate any negative visual <br />impacts to the project and surrounding area, with sensitivity of the existing neighborhood and within City <br />Planning guidelines for the designated area for the project. <br />Project Breakdown <br />Engineering Performed By: <br />RPU engineering staff <br />Civil Construction Performed By: <br />Developer at developer's expense <br />Electrical Work Performed By: <br />RPU field forces <br />Anticipated Start Date: <br />November 1, 2014 <br />Anticipated Duration: <br />One Year <br />Coordination Required With: <br />Developer <br />Reimbursements: <br />100% reimbursable by developer <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1501689 is estimated to be $125,000. Sufficient funds are <br />available in the Electrical Capital Account No. 6130000 - 470626.
