The project area consists of existing 4 -inch and 6 -inch cast iron
waterlines that were installed in the years ranging from 1947 to 1957 and have required numerous
repairs due to leaks over the past several years. The trench resurfacing is also included,
per the Public Works (PW) Department paving standards. Subsequent to the pipeline work, PW is
scheduled to complete the final surface paving as part of a planned rehabilitation project for the streets in
this area.
Staff has coordinated with PW regarding the allowable working hours and traffic control for this project.
The work is scheduled to occur during normal daytime hours. Other than routine service tie - overs, no
service disruptions are anticipated to complete the work of this project.
Bids were opened on August 13, 2014. The lowest responsive bid was submitted by Trautwein
Construction, Inc. Staff has reviewed all provided documentation and has determined that Trautwein
Construction, Inc. has met all of the requirements of the specifications.
