Senior Citizen Day: Irene Weir <br /> -Stephanie Harvey will send email to city contacts. Staff will upload nomination form. <br /> -AARP Newsletter made mention of nominating process in newsletter <br /> -Will Speak at AARP May 2 <br /> -Award Ceremony is 3:00 pm on August 21s' <br /> -Library(Tonya Kennan) confirmed participation all libraries will be doing something that day <br /> -Sarah Mundy confirmed <br /> -Article for"Explore Riverside" will appear in early August <br /> -California Senior Guide- last week in April <br /> -Letters stuffed or ready to send <br /> Tarmo: kudos to Weir for her hard work <br /> Weir: will ask commissioners if additional help is necessary <br /> B. Village 2 Village Project: Cyndi Pardee <br /> -Presentation on Village 2 Village <br /> -create way for seniors to join together, support, each other, or live in their homes longer/ <br /> -Funded by grants or membership <br /> -Pardee wants to move forward with concept <br /> —Often times its older peoples children that sign them up <br /> -Pruett: UCR is working on grant researching seniors and urban planning. <br /> C. Senior Corps—Don Coon <br /> -60 people were served at RSVP luncheon <br /> -Tutoring at Mt. View elementary-call for volunteers.
