Call to Order: <br /> Meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Chair Ian Barraza; a quorum was present. <br /> <br />2. Review of Minutes: <br />The minutes of the January 15, 2014 meeting were reviewed and approved with the following corrections: <br /> <br />Page 1 Others in Attendance - Change ASL Interpreter name from Desere Patterson to Tracy Halmagean. <br />Page 2 New Business Items to be Purchased for Use at Event Booths - <br />- <br /> <br />3. Public Comments: <br /> 1. Tom Lewensky introduced himself and stated he has applied for membership to the MDCC. <br /> <br /> 2. Adam Franey, Assistant Director of Group Sales for the Inland Empire 66ers <br /> He reported there will be a pre-game <br /> clinic on the field, awards, activities for all ages, and the National Anthem will be presented by a <br /> deaf individual. Closed captioning will be provided by Quick Caption. Franey further indicated the <br /> MDCC could set up a fundraiser with the team and receive 50% of sale price. Antha Ward <br /> asked if it would be possible for the MDCC to have a table that evening in exchange for an interpreter. <br /> Franey said yes, and Ann Marie Stout volunteered to provide interpretation. <br /> <br />4. Reports/Follow-Up: <br /> Tre Members reviewed the attached summary for the month ending January 31, 2014 <br />reflecting MDCC funds as follows: BBVA = $15,195.64 and City accounts = $9,987.61. Total funds <br />available as of January 31 equal $25,183.25. It was noted the audit has not yet been completed, but will <br />be done soon. <br /> <br /> ADA Accommodation at Special Events Ad Hoc Committee Report Dawn Rechenberg reported they met <br />three weeks ago and reviewed how other cities are handling this For example, the City of Oakland <br />includes all applicable ADA requirements on their special event applications, and the City of New Orleans <br />has a very good policy in place.
