Palacios <br />Second: H. Redfern <br />Ayes: All <br /> <br />CHAIRMAN’S REPORT <br />The Cahuilla exhibit opening was a success with an estimated 300 attendees. An email was sent to the <br />Museum Board members requesting volunteers to serve on the Ethics Committee. <br /> <br />REPORT ON MUSEUM OPERATIONS <br />th <br />S. Mundy reported that October 15 will begin the Cahuilla docent training program. A reception and <br />viewing was held for the California Indian Conference at the Museum. The Cahuilla exhibit will be <br />shown throughout 2017, evolving over time. Interviews for the Administrative Analyst are complete and <br />pending background check. The Museum will have a full time General Maintenance Worker starting in <br />the next few weeks. The two Associate Curator positions close today and so far have over 130 <br />applicants. Interviews for the part time Senior Administrative Analyst have been completed with a <br />candidate selected pending background check. <br /> Arts and Cultural Affairs Division (ACAD) update <br />1. <br />The report was included with the Board packet. M. Haupt reported that the Mayor’s Celebration for <br />th <br />the Arts was held October 11. Local artist Jeff Soto featured Riverside themed screened shirts. <br />Riverside Sister City in Germany is coming for a visit soon. The tourism app for smart phones will <br />feature more pieces on the Main Street mall. The Fox Foundation purchased the balcony section to <br />provide free viewings for school students. An economic impact study for the festival of Lights event <br />will occur. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS <br />th <br />Due to the upcoming veteran’s Day Holiday, the November 11 Museum Board meeting will be moved <br />th <br />to Tuesday, November 18 at 4:00pm. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> RMM Exhibitions Committee- <br />2.no meeting was held. <br /> <br /> RMM Collections Committee- <br />3. the Collections Committee did not meet in October. A report for <br />items accepted for accession into the Museum Collection from the meetings between April, May & <br /> <br />August 2014 was presented to the Board and motioned for approval. <br />
