A T E R C '1 C R C V L I F E <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: JANUARY 23, 2015 <br /> ITEM NO: 4 <br /> SUBJECT: ELECTRICAL DUCTBANK RELOCATION ON VICTORIA AVENUE AND HARRISON <br /> STREET—WORK ORDER NO. 1406260 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure of$105,000 for <br /> Work Order No. 1406260 for the relocation of an electrical duct bank located on Victoria Avenue and <br /> Harrison Street. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $105,000 for Work Order <br /> No. 1406260 for the relocation of an electrical duct bank located on Victoria Avenue and Harrison Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The City of Riverside, Public Works Department (PW) in conjunction with the Riverside County Flood <br /> Control and Water Conservation District (RCFCWCD) will be installing a storm drain line on Victoria <br /> Avenue, from Harrison Street to Van Buren Boulevard. To accommodate the installation of the storm <br /> drain, existing underground electric facilities at the intersection of Harrison Street and Victoria Avenue <br /> will be relocated. The duct bank contains electric conduits and energized cables that currently serve <br /> electric customers in the area. <br /> Prior to the electrical ductbank relocation, Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) will install a temporary power <br /> pole and wires on Victoria Avenue to serve electric customers in the area. The work includes the <br /> installation of approximately 160 trench feet of conduit, one temporary power pole and related electric <br /> facilities. The temporary pole and wires will be installed in Underground Utility District No. 1 and will be <br /> removed when the work is completed. <br /> Riverside Public Utilities {RPU} engineering staff performed the design to eliminate any negative visual <br /> impacts to the project and surrounding area, with sensitivity of the existing neighborhood and within City <br /> Planning guidelines for the designated area of the project. <br /> The project breakdown is proposed as follows: <br /> Project Breakdown <br /> Engineering Performed By: RPU engineering staff <br /> Civil Construction Performed By: Energy Delivery Contractor's Panel (for temp power), PW <br /> contractor at RCFCWCD expense <br /> Electrical Work Performed By: RPU field forces <br /> Anticipated Start Date: February 9, 2015 <br /> Anticipated Duration: Four months <br /> Coordination Required With: PW Inspector, RPU Field Superintendent <br /> Reimbursements: None <br />
