W A T E R E N E R G Y I. i F F <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> N <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: APRIL 2, 2015 <br /> ITEM NO: 8 <br /> SUBJECT: POLE REPLACEMENT ON THE VISTA-MOUNTAIN VIEW 69 kV TRANSMISSION <br /> LINE —WORK ORDER NO. 1516026 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is approval of the capital expenditure of $85,000 for <br /> Work Order No. 1516026 for Pole Replacement on the Vista-Mountain View 69 kV Transmission Line. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $85,000 for Work Order <br /> No. 1516026 for pole replacements on the Vista-Mountain View 69 kV Transmission Line. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Four 85 and 90 foot wooden poles, installed in 1976 and 1978, along the Vista-Mountain View <br /> Transmission Line must be replaced due to decay in the base of the poles. The work involves the <br /> replacement of the poles and associated electrical components. This replacement will help maintain <br /> reliable electric service on the Vista-Mountain View 69 kV Transmission Line. <br /> Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) engineering staff performed the design to eliminate any negative visual <br /> impacts to the project and surrounding area, with sensitivity to the existing neighborhood, and within City <br /> Planning guidelines for the designated area of the project. <br /> The project breakdown is proposed as follows: <br /> Project Breakdown <br /> Engineering Performed By: RPU engineering staff <br /> Civil Construction Performed By: None <br /> Electrical Work Performed By: RPU field forces <br /> Anticipated Start Date: April 6, 2015 <br /> Anticipated Duration: 2 weeks <br /> Coordination Required With: RPU Field Superintendent <br /> Reimbursements: None <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1516026 is estimated to be $85,000.
