W A 'C k R E N f k 4ri 'Y 1_ S S f( <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> a mmM. m, <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> PU B L .I C U I :I: L .I.. .I I E S <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: MAY 1, 2015 <br /> ITEM NO: 13 <br /> SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL JOINT WORKSHOP WITH THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES — <br /> MAY 7, 2015 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> The issue for Board of Public Utilities consideration is to provide feedback and recommendations to staff <br /> on the agenda, structure and timing of a joint workshop of the City Council and Board of Public Utilities. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities provide feedback and recommendations to staff on the draft agenda, <br /> structure and timing of the joint workshop. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> For the first time in many years, the City Council and Board of Public Utilities (Board) will meet jointly. <br /> The workshop will start at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 and is expected to last two hours. The <br /> purpose of the workshop is to ensure alignment between the City Council and Board strategic planning <br /> efforts and goals, communicate current and future RPU challenges and opportunities, better understand <br /> the roles and responsibilities of the City Council and Board and to develop an action plan for the City <br /> Council and Board to ensure success related to RPU's Utility 2.0 initiative. <br /> This workshop will allow the City Council and Board to provide input to ensure common goals are <br /> reflected in each activity.
