1 RESOLUTION NO. 19223 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, (1) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT 3 REQUIREMENTS OF RESOLUTION NO. 17788; AND (2) AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING SERVICES MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO ZOLL 4 MEDICAL CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWENTY SEMI- AUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATORS AND RELATED SUPPORT EQUIPMENT. 5 6 WHEREAS the City of Riverside Fire Department applied for grant funding from the 7 Community Health Corporation and Riverside Community Health Foundation ("Community 8 Grantors") in order to obtain funds to purchase twenty (20) Automatic External Defibrillators 9 ("AEDs") and related support equipment; 10 WHEREAS on January 13, 1998 the City Council agreed to implement an AED Program 11 in the City of Riverside. 12 WHEREAS the Community Grantors awarded the AED Grant to the Riverside Fire 13 Department with the stipulation that the City purchase ZOLL Model 1600 Semi-Automatic 14 Defibrillators and related support equipment from the ZOLL Medical Corporation; 15 WHEREAS grant funds in the amount of two hundred six thousand six hundred and fifty 16 dollars ($206,650) have been awarded to the City of Riverside by the Community Grantors for the 17 purchase of the twenty (20) AEDs and related support equipment from the ZOLL Medical 18 Corporation. 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside as 20 follows: 21 Section 1: The competitive procurement requirements of the City's Purchasing 22 Resolution No. 17788 are hereby waived for purchase of twenty ZOLL Model 1600 Semi- 23 Automatic Defibrillators and related support equipment from the ZOLL Medical Corporation. 24 Section 2: The City's Purchasing Services Manager is hereby authorized to issue a 25 purchase order to the ZOLL Medical Corporation for the purchase of twenty ZOLL Model 1600 26 Semi-Automatic Defibrillators and related support equipment. 27 /// Attorney s Office Street CA 92522 782-5567
