Item 1 Public Comment No eComments or public comment cards submitted. CONSENT CALENDAR tern 2 Approval of the Minutes of July 28, 2014 Board Meeting Approval of July 28, 2014 Minutes will be voted on at the September 22nd Board of Library Trustees meeting. Item 3, 4 8 5 Approval of Trust Fund Expenditures; Approval of Donations of $1,000 or more and Update on Library Programs, Operations, and Special Program Requests Trustee Evans moved with no corrections. Ayes: Trustees Christmas, Evans, House, Lewis, Runyon, Ridgway and Yonezawa Opposed: N/A Abstained: N/A PRESENTATIONS Item 6 Library Director to Present 'Library 101" Director Kennon discussed Riverside Reads 2014, a community reading program. The program is part of Cal Humanities' War Comes Home Initiative and is grant funded by Cal Humanities. The program is supported by the CA Center for the Book and the CA State Library. The book chosen for this program is What it is Like to go to War by Karl Marlantes. The reading program begins September 2nd and runs through November 20th. Community members may check out copies of the book at any Riverside Public Library location. City Council will receive a presentation on the program at its meeting on October 21, 2014. Riverside Public Library will host the author in conversation event featuring Karl Marlantes on November 20th at 6pm at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. The event will be moderated by Mary Menzel, Director of the CA Center for the Book. In conjunction with the War Comes Home Initiative an online exhibition titled War Ink, will display Veteran's tattoo art and tell the stories behind the art. War Ink will debut on Veteran's Day 2014 and will be accessible from the Riverside Public Library website. DISCUSSION AND ACTION CALENDAR Item 7 Code of Ethics Annual Review City Clerk Colleen Nicol was present to discuss and answer questions regarding the Code of Ethics Annual Review. Trustee Evans, Runyon, Ridgway and House brought up ideas for the Ethics process and all Trustees discussed different possibilities.
