1 RESOLUTION NO. 19840 <br /> <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 18528 KNOWN AS THE <br /> 3 PARKING SCHEDULE RESOLUTION TO PROHIBIT PARKING OF <br /> COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WITH A GROSS VEH1CLE WEIGHT OF 10,000 POUNDS <br /> 4 OR MORE ONLY ON BOTH SIDES OF GATEWAY DRIVE BETWEEN CANYON PARK <br /> DRIVE AND VALLEY SPR1NGS PARKWAY, AND ON VALLEY SPRINGS PARKWAY <br /> 5 FROM GATEWAY DRIVE TO 300 FEET NORTHERLY THEREOF. <br /> <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the Riverside County Department of Building and Services has constructed new <br /> 7 facilities near Canyon Springs Commemial Park near Gateway Drive between Canyon Park Drive <br /> 8 and Valley Springs Parkway and on a portion of Valley Springs Parkway; and <br /> <br /> 9 WHEREAS, all of the streets within the Canyon Springs Commercial Park were recently <br /> <br />10 posted as no parking zones to prevent commemial vehicles from parking in the area for extended <br />11 periods of time; and <br /> <br />12 WHEREAS, the Riverside County Department of Building and Services has made a request to <br />13 allow parking in portions of the area commonly referred to as Canyon Springs Commerciai Park, <br />14 while prohibiting commercial vehicles with a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more from <br /> <br />15 parking; and <br /> <br />16 WHEREAS, on January 3, 2001, the Parking, Traffic and Streets Commission held a meeting <br />17 at which a staff report was presented recommending approval to allow other types of vehicles to <br />18 park while continuing to prohibit the parking of commercial vehicles with a gross weight of <br /> <br />19 10,000 pounds or more on both side of Gateway Drive between Canyon Park Drive and Valley <br />20 Springs Parkway, and on Valley Springs Parkwvay from Gateway Drive to 300 feet northerly <br /> <br />21 thereof; and <br /> <br />22 WHEREAS, on January 3, 2001, the Parking, Traffic and Streets Commission unanimously <br />23 approved staff's recommendation to recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution to <br /> <br />24 prohibit commercial vehicles with a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more from parking on both <br />25 sides of Gateway Drive between Canyon Park Drive and Valley Springs Parkway, and on the east <br />26 side of Valley Springs Parkway from Gateway Drive to 300 feet northerly thereof. <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />{909} 782-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
