1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />ll <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br /> 26 <br /> <br /> 27 <br /> <br /> 28 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19839 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION <br />FOR FUNDS FROM THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY <br />FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDED BY ANNUAL STATE <br />APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE CALIFORNIA FOREST <br />RESOURCE IMPROVEMENT FUND THROUGH THE TREES FOR <br />THE MILLENNIUM iNITIATIVE FOR THE PARK AND <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT TREE PLANTiNG PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Govemor of the State of California in cooperation with the California <br />State Legislature has enacted the California Trees for the Millennium Initiative for 1999, <br />which provides funds to the State of Califorinia and its political subdivisions for urban forestry <br />programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Governor in concurrence with the State Legislature has appropriated <br />specific funding to provide funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for <br />urban forestry programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been delegated <br />the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary <br />procedures governing application by local agencies and non-profit organizations under the <br />program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Forestry and Fire <br />Protection require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the application before <br />submission of said application to the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Riverside will enter into an agreement with the State of <br />California to carry out a tree planting project using funds to pay for the purchase of trees, <br />stakes, ties, soil amendment, fertilizer, root collar protection, root barrier supplies and <br />irrigation for tree planting purposes within the City of Riverside and to pay for administration <br />of the program by the Park and Recreation Department; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br /> Riverside, California, hereby: <br /> <br /> <br />
