RESOLUTION NO. 19834 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A POLICY FOR THE INVESTMENT OF CITY 3 FUNDS BY THE TREASURER AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 19636. 4 WHEREAS, Section 705 of the Charter of the City of Riverside provides that the City 5 Treasurer shall have custody of all public funds belonging to or under the control of the City or any 6 office, department or agency of the City government and deposit all funds coining into the 7 Treasurer's hands in such depository as may be designated by resolution of the City Council, or, if 8 no such resolution is adopted then in such depository designated in writing by the City Manager and 9 in compliance with all provisions of the State Constitution and la~vs of the state governing the 10 handling, depositing and securing of public funds; and 11 WHEREAS, in February 2000, the City Council last reviewed the current investment 12 policy; and 13 WHEREAS, on January 27, 2001, the Finance Committee reviewed the proposed 14 Investment Policy and recommended that it be fo~wqarded to the City Council for approval; and 15 WHEREAS, the proposed Investment Policy makes only minor changes fi-om the 16 previously approved policy. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, 18 California, as tBllows: 19 .Section 1: The City of Riverside investment policy including the delegation of 20 investment responsibility to the City Treasurer as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto is hereby 21 adopted as the investment policy for the City of Riverside. 22 23 24 adoption, 25// 26 / / 27 / / Section 2: Resolution No. 19636 is hereby repealed, Section 3: The provisions of this resolution shall become effective immediately upon City Attontey's Office 39111~ Maitt Street Riverside, CA 92522 (909) 826-5567
