1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br /> 27 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19830 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br />CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE <br />PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH REGULATIONS OF THE FEDERAL <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGULATIONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation (DOT) of the United States of America <br />has established the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program which aims to ensure an <br />equal opportunity to receive and participate in DOT assisted contracts; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Riverside participates in DOT assisted programs and desires to <br />adopt its own DBE Program in accordance with DOT regulations 49 CFR Part 26, et. seq.,; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City conducted an open comment period for 45 days, from November <br />23, 2000 to January 6, 2000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with 49 CFR 26.45 and Section XIV 'Overall Goals' of <br />Exhibit 9A to the Caltrans Draft Local Assistance Procedures Manual, the City's intent to adopt a <br />DBE program was advertised on the City's web site, the Press Enterprise, the Black Voice News, <br />and the Hispanic News on November 22, 2000 and November 23, 2000. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interests to adopt such a program; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Riverside does hereby <br />adopt a Disadvantaged' Business Enterprise Program as outlined in "Exhibit A," which is attached <br />hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager or his designee is authorized to <br />execute any documents necessary to carry out the purposes and policies of the DBE Program. <br />/// <br />/// <br />/// <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 826-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
