I RESOLUTION 1~o. 19828 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE MADISON STREET UNDERGROUND 3 UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 5. 4 WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 14.24 of the Riverside 5 Municipal Code, a public hearing was held on January 9, 2000, at the hour of 2:00 p.m., in the 6 Council Chambers of the City Hall, 3900 Main Street, Riverside, California, to ascertain whether 7 the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and 8 associated overhead structures, and the underground installation of wires and facilities for 9 supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service by means of electrical materials 10 or devices, within that certain area of the City described as follows: beginning on the centerlines of 11 Madison Street and Victoria Avenue and extending along Madison Street north and including one 12 hundred feet beyond the street right-of-way on each side of Madison Street to centerlines of 13 Lincoln Street; and centerlines of Madison Street and Evans Street north to centerlines of Madison 14 Street and Indiana Street and including one hundred feet beyond the street right-of way on each 15 side of Madison Street to the intersection of Indiana Avenue as indicated on the attached map 16 marked Exhibit "A" which is incorporated and made a part hereof' by this reference; and 17 WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of such hearing has been given to all affected 18 property owners as such are shown on the last equalized assessment roll and to all utilities 19 concerned, in the manner and within the time required by law; and 20 WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have 21 been given an opportunity to be heard; 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, 23 California as follows: 24 Section 1: That pursuant to Chapter 14.24 of the Municipal Code of the City of Riverside, 25 the area depicted and described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this 26 reference, is hereby declared an Underground Utility District, and is designated as Madison Street 27 Underground Utility District No. 5 of the City of Riverside ("District").
