Don Gallegos <br />spoke regarding City Council meeting video. Vivian Moreno spoke <br />regarding City Council meeting video, the employee handbook, and Human <br />Resources Department employees. Karen Wright spoke regarding City <br />Council meeting video, the Friday Morning Group, Downtown Bus <br />Terminals, and Brown Act violations. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS/PLANNING REFERRALS AND APPEALS <br />AGREEMENT - NON-EXCLUSIVE MEDICAL TRANSPORT FRANCHISE - <br />AMERICARE MEDSERVICES, INC., DBA AMERICARE AMBULANCE <br />SERVICE - ORDINANCE INTRODUCED <br />Hearing was called to receive comments relative to the request by <br />Americare Medservices, Inc., dba Americare Ambulance Service for a non- <br />exclusive medical transport franchise to perform Non -Emergency Basic Life <br />Support (BLS) and Critical Care Transport (CCT) services through <br />December 31, 2019. Three people spoke regarding the matter. The public <br />hearing was officially closed. Following discussion, the City Council <br />(1) introduced an ordinance granting a franchise to Americare MedServices, <br />Inc., dba Americare Ambulance Service; (2) approved an agreement with <br />Americare MedServices, Inc., dba Americare Ambulance Service, for a non- <br />exclusive medical transport franchise to perform Non -Emergency Basic Life <br />Support (BLS) and Critical Care Transport (CCT) services through <br />December 31, 2019; (3) authorized the Interim City Manager, or his <br />designee, to execute the agreement including making minor non -substantive <br />changes to the agreement; and (4) directed the Fire Chief, or his designee, <br />to present a comprehensive report on the non -emergency ambulance <br />transport system in six months; whereupon, an ordinance entitled, "An <br />Ordinance of the City of Riverside, California, Granting Franchisee a <br />Motion <br />X <br />Franchise to Americare MedServices, Inc., to Operate Authorized <br />Second <br />X <br />Ambulance Vehicles for a Period Approximately of Five Years Along and <br />Ayes <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />Upon the Streets of the City of Riverside", was presented and introduced. <br />Noes <br />X <br />X <br />100-196 <br />
