1 RESOLUTION NO. 19219 <br />2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING WAIVER OF FORMAL <br />3 BIDDING AS REQUIRED BY RESOLUTION NO. 17788 WITH <br /> RESPECT TO CONTRACTING WITH DIGITAL SOUND <br />4 CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A <br /> TELEPHONE VOICEMAIL SYSTEM, INCLUDING ADMINISTRATION <br />5 TRAINING AND THE FIRST 12 MONTHS MAINTENANCE <br /> AGREEMENT FOR REGULAR AND EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE AND <br />6 REPAIR SERVICES FOR THE CITY'S TELEPHONE VOICEMAIL <br /> SYSTEM. <br />7 <br />8 WHEREAS, the City's telephone voice mail system is <br />9 approximately nine years old and in need of replacement; and <br />10 WHEREAS, three informal bids were obtained by the City <br />11 and Digital Sound Corporation was the best qualified and <br />12 submitted the lowest of the three bids; and <br />13 WHEREAS, Digital Sound Corporation is the manufacturer of <br />14 the existing system has agreed to provide a replacement system at <br />15 a cost of $69,918.75; and <br />16 WHEREAS the Assistant City Manager, Administrative <br />17 Services and the Purchasing Services Manager concur that the cost <br />18 is reasonable considering the past reliability of the existing <br />19 system, the provision for system administration training and <br />20 including the first 12 months maintenance agreement; and <br />21 WHEREAS the waiver of formal bidding will permit entering <br />22 into an agreement for replacement of the existing telephone <br />23 voicemail system; <br />24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />25 City of Riverside, California, that the bidding requirements of <br />26 Resolution No. 17788 of the City of Riverside are hereby waived, <br />27 the Purchasing Services Manager is hereby authorized to issue a <br />~to~ey's Office <br />~re~ <br />CA 92522 <br />782-5567 <br /> F:~WPDATA\RES\98007401.KG <br /> <br /> <br />
