1 RESOLUTION NO. 19217 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. <br /> 3 19009, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 <br /> ESTABLISHING A SALARY PLAN FOR THE CONFIDENTIAL I/NIT <br /> 4 AND BY AMENDING SECTION 4 ESTABLISHING THE <br /> CLASSIFICATION PLAN IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH A NEW <br /> 5 CLASSIFICATION ENTITLED "COUNCIL RELATIONS <br /> ASSISTANT" AND TO DELETE THE CLASSIFICATION <br />6 "ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE COUNCIL"; ALL TO BE <br /> EFFECTIVE AS OF JANUARY 23, 1998. <br />7 <br />8 WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has conducted an <br />9 administrative review of the City Council and Mayor's staffing <br />10 which review was initiated because of increased responsibility <br />11 and recent turnover; and <br />12 WHEREAS, a variety of classifications and compensation <br />13 have been assigned to Council/Mayor staff over time; and <br />14 WHEREAS, the study reflected that the two Administrative <br />15 Clerk positions added in 1995 evolved in terms of increased job <br />16 responsibility; and <br />17 WHEREAS, staff now recommends that the two Administrative <br />18 Clerk positions be reclassified to Council Relations Assistants; <br />19 and <br />20 WHEREAS, staff now recommends that the equivalent <br />21 position in the Mayor's office, which has the added <br />22 responsibilities of being the Mayor's secretary, be reclassified <br />23 to Secretary; and <br />24 WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Salary Resolution <br />25 to establish this new classification and the appropriate salary <br />26 range therefor; <br />27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />Attorney's O~ce <br />~re~ <br />CA ~522 <br />782-5567 <br /> F:~WPDATA~RES~98006201.CC <br /> <br /> <br />
