6 7 VAC-7-8238 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 CITY ATTORNEY RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 14864 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF THORNTON STREET; REFERRING TO A MAP ON FILE AND RESERVING A PERMANENT EASEMENT AND RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 8340 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE, AND DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE RESERVATION OF SUCH EASEMENT AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 8341 OF SAID CODE; AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING. A 4 5 RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside as follows: 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, to vacate a portion of Thornton Street, approximately 13-feet-wide by 28-feet-long, and situated on the northeasterly side of Thornton Street and northwesterly of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, upon the grounds and for the reason that said portion of the street is unnecessary for present or future public use. The said City Council hereby elects and expresses its election to proceed to vacate said portion of the street pursuant to the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways, and Service Easements Vacation Law, being Sections 8300 et seq. of Part 3, Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. 2. That the portion of the street which it is the intention of the City Council to vacate is located in the City of Riverside, County of Riverside, State of California, and is more particularly described in the document attached hereto, marked Exhibit A, and by this reference made a part hereof. 3. That the portion of the street sought to be vacated is shown on a certain map on file with the City Clerk of the City of Riverside, California, and reference is hereby made to said map on file.
